Course Description
- This course prepares students for university level economics, a requirement for most business degrees.
- Economics is about how individuals, governments, and firms make choices about the allocation of scarce resources.
- Topics include economic goals, the labour market, the role of government in markets, public institutions vs. privatization, profit maximization, macroeconomic indicators, fiscal and monetary policy and trade.
- DUAL CREDIT: Students who attain 75% in the course and on the exam will earn a first year half credit in Microeconomics from Wilfred Laurier University.
- Prerequisites: Any university or university/college preparation course in Canadian & world studies, English, or social sciences & humanities
