Course Description
- This course explores legal issues that directly affect students’ lives.
- To develop an appreciation of the Canadian legal system, students examine the historical roots of Canadian law and expand their understanding of the role of the government in making laws.
- Students will develop informed opinions on legal issues and look at current cases in the news.
- Students will have an opportunity to witness a criminal court case while also getting to participate in a mock trial and hear from various speakers from law-related careers.
- Topics include criminal law, family law, human rights, torts and contracts.
- University Level
- Prerequisites: CHC2DI or CHC2PI
